Do you ever get the feeling that just as soon as you start to make changes to your habits for your health, you get knocked down with something really sever? I was going along good with my workouts and counting calories last week. By Thursday I was in pretty bad pain. I went to the Dr and they sent me for a CT Scan then called me and sent my to ER. Seems I had/have a section of my small bowel that stopped working. It is called an Ileus. It is/was a mild one but it was still an issue. The treatment is no food until it starts moving again.
I had an IV and some pain meds Thursday night in the ER. The Dr had intentions of me being admitted to be kept on IV until it started working again. But being that we are “in season” down here. The Hospital was FULL not a single bed available. Not even on in the ER – the had the 20 beds of the ER full of admitted patients. I have to remind myself to try and not get seriously sick when all the snow birds are here – because you will set in ER for 5 hours and still not get in. Thankfully I am experienced in fasting and was able to go all day Friday with only liquids. I ate a light breakfast Saturday and had no pain so I started eating small meals as the day went on. I still do not seem to be putting out as much as I am taking in…but things are moving enough that I am not hurting.
I only missed two workouts! I think that is pretty good! I didn’t give up and throw in the towel and say Fuck It! I took the two days I was in pain and didn’t lift heavy things. Well, that is only a half-truth lol Thursday night in the ER they had told me to stay active and walk around. So, we did yard work Friday. We have been wanting to get some yucky old plants out from the front yard and re-do some landscaping. We managed to get all the plants relocated to the back yard. My dad made a sifter so I can get the rocks out and leave the dirt in place. Now, I just need to sift the rocks out and move them to the back yard. Then we will buy some new plants to put up there with some bark and not rocks.
My house has tile floors!!! And a good portion of the showers are all done. Sorry – no pictures! We are keeping the remaining indoor items until its all done! Appliances that are a part of the cabinetry were delivered today (Dishwasher, ovens, hood, gas top) Cabinets will go in later this week and then granite will be measured and installed next week.
We have not seen any more movement in the pool area – dang it! And the Fricking seawall is still laying on the grass. They delivered 6 slabs almost 3 weeks ago! They need a total of 10 or more and they are having a hard time getting them from the supplier. The Office manager at the builders sent me an email this AM with that status and I just replied UGH! LOL
I started following the 21 Day Fix meal plan this week. I was wondering if the lack of fiber in my low carb diet was a contributing factor to my gut issue? Who knows…For now, I will do this and see how I feel.
Saturday John and I went to the beach and it was an amazing day! Here is a little Gif file of the waves 🙂 Enjoy
